this is an incredible picture: that's Leo Peters (my late grandfather) & Jim Kok (my dad) standing together seemingly friendly with eachother at grandpa's cottage. There would come later days when they would no longer talk to eachother, and we didn't have so much family love or harmony with the Peters 2 family, but this was before then..the "golden years" when everybody seemed to get along well. Coming down the steps is my mom, Linda, Leo & Helen's 2nd daughter of six and maybe Barb behind her. That may be me with the life preserver on sitting in the sand. At this time in life we were living in Grand Rapids and grandpa was running his Butterball operation while my dad was a chaplain for the Christian Reformed Church.
